Relief Days
     We want to remind you that if you want to work your relief days you must make sure that you are on the relief day list.  If you are signed up for relief day work make sure that you make yourself unavailable and keep a record of the time if you don't want to work your relief days.
CASH REPORTS
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO TURN IN ON COMPANY TIME, BE SURE TO CALL THE NUMBER BELOW. BE SURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ADL 205 REGARDING TURNING IN CASH. Turning in late, and not complying with vacation rules may result in possible discipline. Call the Ticket Compliance Office at (212) 643-5040 with any problems or questions regarding cash reports.
Yard Move Claims
    You must be specific when writing your timeslip.
A)  Explain where you yarded your original train.
B)  Explain exactly what move you made
C)  Explain exactly what track & train you took east or west.  The more Info. the faster the payment.
Safety Issues
    Report any unsafe working conditions to:
     Vinnie Tessitore, Chris Smith, Jay Langlan or
     Joe Synder.
Stepped-Up
     When you are stepped up to Conductor, you must have timeslip signed by supervision or explain why you were stepped-up.  (Only when you were stepped-up by a Field Manager, in the field)
Held in Protect
     When you are held in a protect status for an unusual length of time, your time slip should be signed by supervision.

SMOKING IN PROTECT ROOM
   Just as a reminder, as per the new New York State Law, there is no smoking in any workplace.  If you must smoke you must go outside.  Supervision will be checking for those who are in non compliance.  Those who are caught could receive a sitation from the NYPD and or disipline from the carrier. 
Fare Collection
     If you have a problem collecting fares, write the information on the back of you cash report and notify the test team at ext.5121 or 5122
Medical Department
     You must personally okay yourself back to work from sick or injured status.
Please make sure you call crew prior to taking vacations to verify that you are in fact on vacation, and call crew prior to return to work to verify that you have not been trimmed.
Defects On Equipment
   Please be sure to turn in all radio malfunctions and
interior door malfunctions on M-3,M-7, and
C-3 equipment to Ext.7642.
Ticket Vending Machines
   Be sure to turn in all instances of a TVM not functioning properly to 204 as soon as possible.  If the machine is still not working properly the following day, be sure to turn it in each day until it is fixed.
Clearing Trains
   Upon arrival at final terminal be sure to check the entire train for passengers, this includes the restrooms.
Vacations
Be sure to remember that vacations begin on
Mondays.  You cannot be on vacation and on
the sick list at the same time.  If you are on the
sick list and your vacation is coming up you must
ok yourself back by 10:30am Sunday.
Gate Collectors
If you are submitting a timeslip for a meal
period claim when a gate collector, you must
have the timeslip signed by Supervision or
a Test Team member.
Extra Conductor Station Platform Assignments

In an effort to assist train crews with customers boarding
and exiting trains extra conductors may be assigned to
designated stations.  These extra conductors will perform
the following duties.
-  Report in FULL uniform, Hats must be worn.
-  Be positioned in designated areas at stations to assist
   customers boarding and exiting trains.
-  Observe that doors are free of all encumbrances and
   will assist train crew members by passing a hand sign
    when platform is clear.
-  Assist ADA customers boarding and exiting trains.
-  Have a hand held radio in order to communicate with
    train crews when necessary.
-   Provide train information upon request.
If Supervision is not available, conductors should contact
the movement bureau to arrange for a radio to be sent
out to them.

Please be sure to be in FULL uniform.
Conductor assignments can be obtained by the crew
dispatcher.

TIMESLIPS
When submitting timeslips please be sure to fill in ALL of the details possible, including train numbers, times, deadheads, supervisors names, track numbers, etc.
Writing (Work as Directed) is not sufficient in documenting payment. Make copies or keep details of your claims until they are paid. Contact a Union Official if the Wage Office informs you of a denied claim.
UNIFORM POLICY -
Please remember to adhere to the uniform requirements.
Wear Company issued jackets and vests only while performing train service. A proper uniform is a sign of
professionalism. Contact the Uniform Company or
Test Team with any uniform needs. If your needs are
not met, contact your union official.
ON THE JOB INJURY
If you are injured at work or think you may have an injury due to an on the job accident, be sure to call 204 before the end of your tour of duty. Failure to call in any possible injury before the end of your work shift is a rules violation and may hurt you down the road for health treatments or injury claims. Be sure to follow up with Medical with any or all medical documents relative to your injury.
The LIRR is self insured. Workmens Comp does not apply.
HOURS OF SERVICE
Passenger, Road (Flag) and Yard crews should NOT work, submit claims or submit hours of service cards that show TIME WORKED greater than 11 hours and 59 minutes.
Be sure to
NOT include deadhead (limbo) time as time worked and make sure your REST STARTS AFTER YOUR RELEASE TIME . Adhearing to the Hours of Service requirements are very important and monitored by the FRA.

HOURS OF SERVICE CARDS
Hours of Service Cards are mandated by the FRA. Employees who do not submit hours of service cards in a timely manor will be subject to disciplinary action. Employees are responsible to monitor their own hours of service and supply the Carrier with the cards to furnish to the FRA at their request. Special Instruction 100-R

Please remember to get a meal period for gating at Shea you MUST
have it signed by the test team or supervision to get PAID.
